This must have been up a good while now, it was done at the same time as the Visual Rock Stars caper at the much missed Outside Institute. On show here is Fortress and Discreet.

With the meteoric rise in the value of Banksy's work is this the sort of protection we're going to see for his street work? Just plain weird.

Here's something a little strange I bumped into today. A door half covered in 1 and 2p coins. I'm not sure if the others had been nicked or were never there in the first place....

Years ago I used to do a fanzine thing about punk / hardcore and was always trading Polish punk vinyl for UK vinyl. At that time it was virtually impossible to get UK punk records in Poland and there were very few Polish punk records released. This meant that I ended up with about 10 copies of the Dezerter single and a similar amount by another band called Moskwa. So after all this time I'm pleased to see Moskwa are going to finally hit these shores early next year, ably supported by the much improved Varukers.
This Saturday I'm off to see Conflict, Subhumans, Lost Cherees and the Restarts - I think I'll leave my camera at home for that one! Tuesday, November 21

This decrepit sign is near Liverpool Street Station. I'm not sure what City Limits was but this is all that seems left now. It's also pretty much where the shiny office blocks give way to the more run of the mill grime of the East End.

Yesterday I went to see the Wildlife Photographer Of TheYear exhibition at the Natural History Museum (thanks for the ticket Mike). Oh ffs, why don't I just give up on this photography lark. The pictures were just stunning - the sort that make you look at everything you've ever taken and think its time to start again. But enough of the junior categories - the pictures taken by professionals were even better. So here's a picture I took of a robin today thats going to win no prizes. The only good news is that I didn't spend four months with my face smeared in animal droppings, lying in in a ditch in the Falkland islands in winter to get it!

It's gone mid November but it seems autumn has finally arrived in London. This was the scene walking through Hyde Park today. Get that broom out....

The view from Primrose Hill should be great - the city, London Eye etc. but there's just so much ugly clutter too. Here's another perspective - watching the sun go down.

This massive new tower, already nicknamed the The Limey is rapidly appearing next to the Lloyds building in the City of London. I think it will eventually dwarf both that and the nearby Swiss Re Tower.

When the Tubes empty there's some great tunnels with great symmetry like this one on the Northern Line. I don't rightly know why but I love this view.

So yesterdays post may have seemed a bit random? Here's the real thing taken from Primrose Hill yesterday with the Spirit of Dubai airship floating gently by. It's the worlds largest commercial airship and unlike it's more famous predecessors does not contain flammable gas.

I recently took a look around Uxbridge Lido. I wouln't call it breaking and entering - more like urban exploring! What was weird was that despite closing back in 1999 the lifeguard's chair was still bolted to the tower. More pictures of Uxbridge Lido appear on artofthestate.

I've been amazed by knowledge of those reading this blog in identifying who is doing what pieces. So here's another unidientied piece, found off Leonard Street on the night of the Blek Le Rat show.

So Antony Micallef has finished at Lazinc this week. All of these pictures are off to their new homes.
Next up is Conor Harrington - anybody who caught his show at the Old Truman Brewery will be expecting great things again. Conor switches between oil and spray can and blends his figures into their urban surroundings. From Friday 10th to Thursday 30th November.

If you follow the orange lamppost route back from Tate Modern to Southwark station you should walk past this recently installed huge drip painting under a railway bridge. It's a bit dark and dingy in the tunnel - I'll go back at night one time to get a better picture.

London only gets about 50 days of outright clear blue sky sunshine a year and we've just had three in a row. Just a shame I'm stuck at work all day but I eventually managed to get this view of a nicely lit Big Ben yesterday. In answer to yesterdays comment regarding the Gorillaz pieces on the South Bank - they're on the South Bank centre by Hungerford Bridge.
Have a look at this too - now that is high profile graffiti...read more and watch the video of how it was done on the greenpeace site.

The Gorillaz have a new book out at the moment which features a ton of Jamie Hewlett's fantastic artwork. To coincide with this and to celebrate him winning some award the South Bank is currently the host of some supersized artwork on what bassist Murdoch refers to as blue painted temporary hoardings. It looks just great....
